Established in 2020, the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge aims to revive vintage Porsche cars with issues and get them back on the road. The annual challenge pits the technicians at North American Porsche dealerships against each other to win a national title. A collection of the 2025 entrants were displayed along with some local Porsche owners on a very rainy late summer Sunday morning at Classic Car Club Manhattan.
Maybe it was the gloomy weather, but the car that most caught my attention was an unfinished 70s 911 RS in a freshly sprayed coat of Signal Yellow. Without an interior, my imagination conjured a nice black and tan combo that’d look both period and allow that exterior paint to gleam.
