With the warm days of summer 2021 in NYC starting to fade into the distance, CarPark held one more outdoor cars and coffee edition to close out the year. The location was on the elevated plaza of 28 Liberty in downtown Manhattan. Completely surrounded by steps, nearly all of the 60+ vehicles arrived on the plaza via a temporary aluminum ramp. For the narrow track cars, it was a bit precarious to watch.
A trio of red cars were the standouts on display. The first, a Lancia Appia Zagato GTE has some beautifully subtle flowing lines contrasting agains notch-like wheel arches. The Fiat 131 Abarth rally spec designed by Bertone has a very strong 2D graphic design read. Its ‘floating’ roof is a precursor to the popular cropped c-pillar on many crossovers today. Finally, there’s the E30 Touring BMW with LTO Widebody Kit created by digital car modder Khyzyl Saleem. The application of aftermarket body kits can lead to strange results, however this one looks pretty bonkers.
Looking forward to seeing what CarPark has in store when the warm weather returns to NYC in 2022.
