Taking a zoomed in look at the 2024 New York Auto Show reveals digitally inspired patterns are still the go to surface accent for exterior and interior details. There weren’t many examples of interesting interiors that strayed beyond black and grey tones, VW’s ID.Buzz was the only light and bright interior comprised mostly of off-whites and muted orange accents.

Polestar includes labels on most of their interior finishes detailing the material and recyclability components. It’s arguable whether including these is more marketing projection versus good aesthetics but no other automaker is taking a fashion approach to tagging components.
