Toronto-based Studio Paolo Ferrari debuted Editions 4 at Colony in NYC. It’s the first solo exhibition of Ferrari’s furniture design work in the US. The collection includes seating and tables that for the most part use forms that project a sense of weight. The curves are very soft and all edges have a generous radius. The standouts are a couple of chairs with hammered metal legs that when viewed from a distance resemble hand drawn lines in ink.
Also included in the exhibition is a special version of the AME chair. The AME Lamy pays tribute to French culture and fashion figure Michèle Lamy. Paolo Ferrari collaborated with NYC-based textile designer Hiroko Takeda who added delicate strands to the backs of these one off black and white chairs.
